I brush my dogs’ teeth every day. Some may think that’s overzealous and unnecessary. However, I believe regular dental care affects longevity, and since I want my dogs to have the best chance to grow old gracefully, they get their pearly whites shined up every morning.

Love Immortalized

I have a rescue dog of sorts. It’s not a living-breathing dog that requires feeding and walking. Actually, it’s a cheesy oil portrait of a Golden Retriever. Years ago, I bid next-to-nothing for it at a local auction where there were no other takers. I’m certain the painting would’ve ended up in the trash heap were it not for me taking pity.

My three pups were good little doggies all year, yet they won’t be getting any presents this holiday. It’s not that I don’t enjoy spoiling them. Actually, I adore buying them new things. That’s just it— my dogs are fortunate. They have the best of everything. Instead, I plan to spread some holiday love to a bunch of needy dogs that are literally in my own backyard.
